Monteith to Compete in Seven NASCAR Truck Races in 2010
Monteith's NASCAR Camping World Truck Series schedule will see his Graceway Pharmaceuticals, LLC truck making starts at a variety of race tracks from short tracks to superspeedways as well as all over the United States. Monteith's truck starts will come on the 1.5 mile, Charlotte Motor Speedway in Charlotte, NC; 2.0 mile, Michigan International Speedway in Brooklyn, MI; 0.686 mile, O'Reilly Raceway Park in Indianapolis, IN; 0.533 mile, Bristol Motor Speedway in Bristol, TN; 1.5 mile, Las Vegas Motor Speedway in Las Vegas, NV; 2.66 mile, Talladega SuperSpeedway in Talladega, AL; 1.5 mile, Homestead Speedway in Homestead, FL.
Only running seven races, Monteith will be able to keep his Rookie of the Year eligibility for 2011 in the NASCAR Camping World Truck Series, but Monteith will keep his competitive juices flowing during the rest of the season by competing in a short schedule of Late Model Stock Car races. Monteith will start his 2010 Late Model Stock Car campaign by competing in the UARA-STARS Series race at Kingsport Speedway in Kingsport, TN, a home track for Monteith.
Monteith will also compete in selected Late Model Stock Car races at Lonesome Pine Raceway in Coeburn, VA, where he's won the track championship the past two seasons as well as selected event at Newport Speedway in Newport, TN. Monteith will also compete in the UARA-STARS Series races at Lonesome Pine and Newport as well as later in the season on the one-mile, Rockingham Speedway in Rockingham, NC.
Monteith will also be busy testing with his Billy Ballew Motorsports team in preparation for his seven NASCAR Camping World Truck Series starts as well as participating in several official Toyota Racing Development tests. It's certainly going to be a busy year for Monteith despite not competing a full schedule in any series.
"I'm excited about this opportunity," said Monteith. "Every racer starts out at the local level hoping for a chance to compete in the upper levels of NASCAR racing and with the support from my Late Model sponsor Graceway Pharmaceuticals, this is the opportunity of a lifetime."
Graceway Pharmaceuticals, LLC has played a huge role in Monteith's on track success in Late Model Stock Cars as they've been his primary sponsor for the last three seasons.
"It's not very often you see a short track driver move up with the sponsor they have in Late Models, but with Graceway Pharmaceuticals, we've got a strong supporter and we're blessed to have them with us," commented Monteith. "I'm looking forward to racing with Aric(Almirola) this season and helping raise awareness for actinic keratosis(AK) on the NASCAR Camping World Truck Series tour."
The AKAwareness.com design will return this year. Graceway's sponsorship is part of a national public education campaign to raise awareness of actinic keratosis (AK) - a potential early warning sign of skin cancer - as well as the long-term consequences of sun damage over a lifetime. It is estimated that about 10 million Americans have AK, a common pre-cancer that often develops on skin frequently exposed to the sun.
2010 looks to be a big year for Monteith and the young driver will travel to Daytona International Raceway in Daytona, FL to support Graceway Pharmaceuticals, LLC and Billy Ballew Motorsports.
Monteith is supported by Graceway Pharmaceuticals, Amsoil, SPEK Gauges, Clark's Automotive Race Engines, Griffin Radiators, Five Star Stock Car Bodies, TAB Performance, WD Performance Technology, Sherwin Williams Auto Finishes and Pistone LTO Chassis.
